Shag haircuts and heart-shaped phones are the quirky imagery that comes with the dreamy, slightly techno, Phoebe Bridgers-sounding band Daisy the Great. The smooth blend of feminine voices of Kelley Nicole Dugan and Mina Walker is the embodiment of flowers in resin. Ultra-soft, playful, transparently vulnerable yet unyielding, Daisy the Great are folk influenced, but uniquely gentle and misty in their indie-pop niche. They sound like a chill spring day when the buds are just starting to blossom, so it’s more than fitting that they be featured in our Spring Arts Guide. Go ahead and celebrate the warmer days with open windows and live tunes from the Brooklyn-based duo at Songbyrd this May. Daisy the Great play at 7 p.m. on May 11 at Songbyrd. songbyrddc.com. $18–$20.
