Wanna feel like it’s 2002 all over again?

I.M.P., in partnership with the Washington Nationals, are officially reanimating HFStival with a lineup reminiscent of my high school CD collection. Taking place one day this September at Nats Park, the festival features the Postal Service, Death Cab for Cutie, Incubus, Bush, Garbage (personally, I think they’re too cool to be on this lineup), Jimmy Eat World, Girl Talk, Violent Femmes, Tonic, Filter, and Lit, as if Y2K never happened.

After teasing a return of the festival that ran from 1990 to 2005 last week, event promoters at I.M.P. announced Tuesday morning that the revived fest will “cater to the recent explosion of acts from that era.”

“Quintessential HFStival acts have been doing an unprecedented business, selling more tickets than they ever came close to back in the day,” I.M.P. CEO and co-founder Seth Hurwitz says in the release. “So it all made sense to bring back the HFStival.”

Birthed by long-gone rock radio station WHFS, HFStival was known for selling out. It featured acts from the Ramones to No Doubt, Oasis to Blink182.

After nearly two decades (not counting its weird resurgence in 2010 and 2011), the fest returns on Sept. 21 to cater largely to geriatric millennials and the Gen Zers who are obsessed with us. “This will be a show for everyone who went to HFStival in decades past and those who weren’t around to be a part of the scene,” Hurwitz adds.

To give everyone an equal shot at securing tickets, HFStival will use a lottery system similar to the one I.M.P. implemented for the first 44 shows that opened the Atlantis last year. The lottery is open now through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, June 16.
