The Washington Post‘s Tom Sietsema tweeted news this afternoon that Michel Richard’s Citronelle in Georgetown has been shut down due to water damage. Richard’s publicist Mel Davis tells Y&H plans are uncertain:

This is what we know so far…due to extensive water damage, the Latham Hotel & Citronelle are closing today Thursday July 12, 2012.  The building will be evaluated for the full extent of the repairs, but we are expecting that it may take up to 6 months to complete the necessary improvements.  Michel does not have plans for Citronelle at this time – we have just found out this news.
