Three by Yeats
May 11 - June 4
Like the name implies, catch a trio of plays by Irish writer, William Butler Yeats. Scena Theatre, now in its 34th season, will produce: “At the Hawk’s Well,” a one-act play first performed in 1916, loosely based on the stories of Cuchulain, the mythological hero of ancient Ulster. “The Death of Cuchulain,” a poem depicting a series of events that bring in Cuchulain’s wife, Emer, and son Finmole. And “Purgatory,” a family drama that was first presented in at the historic Abbey Theatre, Dublin in 1938, a few months before Yeats’ death. Shows run daily Thursday through Sunday.
