Arab Literature Festival
May 17 - May 18
FreeNarrating The Middle East is a two-day virtual lit fest that brings together Arab writers, poets, publishers, and experts on the literature of the Middle East. The 2022 winner of the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction, Lebanese-American novelist Rabih Alameddine will give this year’s keynote. Panel conversations will discuss the challenges of publishing and translating works from the Middle East as well as how to grow the Arab world’s lit infrastructure. Local Palestinian-American Zeina Azzam, who was recently named Alexandria’s Poet Laureate, will also take part.
