With Covid-19 restrictions loosening globally, 2022 has been a fantastic year for all music lovers. With artists finally returning on the road, many legends have taken full advantage of the reduced restrictions to put on amazing concerts for their fanbases.
World Famous Performers and Legends Return to the Stage
So far, fans have been able to experience some fantastic concerts from some of the world’s most famous artists. For example, Justin Beiber put on an entire world tour called “The Justice World Tour” in North America in February 2022.
Even some legends that haven’t toured in decades returned in 2022 to give their fans some amazing experiences. For example, Tenacious D put on an incredible concert in Utah in July, Elton John started his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour in January, and even the Backstreet Boys began a world tour in June.
The Year Still Has Plenty To Look Forward To
Even though we are in the final quarter of the year, there are still some fantastic concerts and festivals for music lovers to look forward to.
Here are the five best concerts to get excited about before 2022 ends.
Austin City Limits Music Festival (October 7-9 & 14-16)
The ACL Music Festival is an annual concert that occurs on two consecutive three-day weekends toward the end of the year. This year, the concert is scheduled to be held in Zilker Park, Austin, Texas, in October.
The annual festival spans multiple genres, with almost half a million people eagerly anticipating the event line-up each year. This year music lovers can enjoy performances from the likes of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Lil Nas X, James Blake, SZA, and Jazmine Sullivan.
Billy Joel – In Concert (December 19)
Billy Joel is currently on a world tour of his own, but has an exceptional concert scheduled in the prestigious Madison Square Garden venue in New York in December 2022. As expected, tickets are sold out but can be purchased on secondary markets.
Prior to the highly anticipated show, Joel will be gracing stages in New Zealand, Melbourne, and Atlanta – offering plenty of opportunities for fans to witness the incredible Piano Man in action.
Club To Club (C2C) Festival (November 3-6)
This year’s string of concerts at the C2C festival is scheduled to be spectacular as it’s the festival’s 20th anniversary. The annual festival occurs in Turin, Italy, and regularly sees over 30,000 attendees.
C2C has long been known as one of the pioneer festivals for global avant-garde, contemporary pop-culture concerts, and this year will be memorable. This highly anticipated festival will see concerts from the likes of Caribou, Jamie XX, and Low.
Post Malone – The Twelve Carat Tour (September to November)
Post Malone is also on the road as he showcases his latest album called “The Twelve Carat Toothache” to his enormous audiences.
Posty has exciting concerts scheduled all over the United States, with plenty of options for tickets in prestigious venues. He will also head to Vancouver before ending the 2022 tour in Las Angeles in mid-November.
When We Were Young Festival – (October 22 & 29)
When We Were Young is a new festival to look forward to. Their first-ever event is scheduled for October this year and will see headline acts from My Chemical Romance, Avril Lavigne, Bright Eyes, and Paramore.
The event will take place over two weekends and is founded by Live Nation Entertainment, so it should be a great show.
Would 2023 be Able to Raise the Bar Even Further?
2023 is expected to bring more excitement for music lovers with rumors of world tours from artists such as Adele, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, and BTS.
It won’t just be artists raising the bar in 2023. Technology such as NFTs are expected to be integrated into events, making the experiences more interactive for attendees.
We already saw some of the world’s biggest festivals, such as Coachella and Tomorrowland, beginning to introduce NFTs this year. For example, Coachella released an NFT collection in partnership with FTX US for their 2022 festival, which provided users with lifetime festival passes and unique on-site experiences.
It won’t stop there. Many NFT projects are now starting to provide their holders fantastic and unique experiences at concerts.
One incredible example is Cocky, a unique NFT-based lifestyle club that gives its holders access to world-class music events. Electronic music lovers would love this NFT collection as it provides real-world utility in some incredibly unconventional locations. The NFTs act as tickets to the events, and Cocky’s NFT even have a unique feature called Mutations, which displays stamps on the background to show their journey through the Cocky ecosystem itself.
Cocky NFTs come in 51 skin variations and three lids. The color of the lid determines your privileges at Cocky events like subsidized transport, accommodation, additional invites, bar tabs, exclusive merchandise, etc.
However, if you are the lucky person to get the Cocky Black Can, you will be eligible for VIP benefits at Cocky events:
- Plus two at all Cocky events
- Flights to a luxury resort prior to each event
- Meet and greet the artists
- Flights
- Accommodation
- All-access pass
- Bar tab
- And more!
If you didn’t get the Black Can, don’t worry. Three Cocky Can NFTs, selected at random, “black-out” prior to each Cocky event for 24 hours. And the holders get access to these exclusive benefits at the event:
- Plus two at the event
- Flights
- Accommodation
- VIP access
- Bar tab
Other crypto projects that will raise the bar for concerts in 2023 include Afterparty, Dreamverse, RefractionDAO, and Cetaurify.
