Shop Made in DC’s Wine and Watercolors

Get imaginative—and perhaps inebriated—with Wine and Watercolors! One of Shop Made in DC’s many craft classes offered this fall, Wine and Watercolors is just what it sounds like. At each two-hour session, participants are given two printed designs and all the various, shared, supplies needed to paint watercolor masterpieces. Wine, of course, is provided as well. Shop Made in DC cofounder Stacey Price says the idea for Wine and Watercolors came from her own desire for more activities in the city. “I wanted something to do other than going to happy hour with people,” Price explained. “This allows you to have happy hour, but also make something.” While Wine and Watercolors is a way to interact with local artists—all watercolor designs are acquired from resident makers and creators—Price explained that the series is primarily intended to be a social event. “I just want people to feel social, to be able to come with a group of friends, or alone and make friends. We just really want them to feel connected to the maker and connected to creativity.” Wine and Watercolors starts at 5 p.m. on Sept. 3 and again on Sept. 8 at Shop Made in DC Georgetown, 1353 Wisconsin Ave. NW. shopmadeindc.com. $20.
