Baking with Sonny’s: How to Make Rugelach
Spending quarantine sweating over sourdough is so last year. In 2021, boost your pastry game with a new recipe: rugelach. On Feb. 21, Sixth & I Historic Synagogue will join forces with beloved baker Hannah Wolfman-Arent of Sonny’s Pizza to host a virtual baking class all about those delicious delicacies. Prior to the class, attendees will receive a list of ingredients, a full recipe, and a step-by-step guide so they can purchase ingredients in advance (and get a head start on thinking about what filling you want—consider nuts, jam, or chocolate). And if you happen to master the art of rugelach and are up for another challenge, Wolfman-Arent will be hosting two more virtual classes in March covering upside-down cake and challah. If you buy tickets to all three, you’ll also get a digital version of Sonny’s new quarantine cookbook, For Starters. The event begins at 11 a.m. on Feb. 21. Registration is available at eventbrite.com. $30–$75.
