A few weeks ago, in the wake of the reassignment of theater reviewer (and CP film reviewer) Tricia Olszewski after supposedly insulting the local theater community, we ran down a few things freelancers might want to keep in mind, since the Post has never promulgated a blogging policy for stringers.
Turns out the Post has now codified their freelance blogging policy. Sort of.
In an e-mail sent to Style reviewers on March 22, Arts Editor John Pancake wrote that “you and I have pay close attention to what we and do in public. We have to avoid statements or actions that could compromise or seem to compromise our fairness….[I]n this world of blogs and online chats, please think about what you are posting for the world’s 3 billion people to see.”
But Pancake stopped short of a no-blog policy, leaving staffers with this thought: “We’re all in this together, so be careful out there. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to give me a call.”
This isn't a paywall.
We don't have one. Readers like you keep our work free for everyone to read. If you think that it's important to have high quality local reporting we hope you'll support our work with a monthly contribution.
