The arrival of spring is often signaled by a steadily increasing proportion of exposed skin on District residents. This afternoon, one woman took the trend to its extreme, sauntering westbound down Columbia Road NW toward 18th Street wearing nothing but a skin-colored thong.
“I’m going to a nudist convention,” she said.
In fact, she was going to the police substation at 18th and Columbia, whether she knew it or not.
An officer at the station wasn’t providing details about the apprehension. “It’s a mental problem. She’s entitled to her privacy,” he said.
