Weekend activities that are bad for you: sleeping in, stressing out at crowded stores, cleaning the casa (all those toxic fumes).

Weekend activities that are good for you: movies.

The good films will still be around next week, people, and all the bad ones aren’t worth your cash anyhow. But the DC Shorts festival needs to be crossed off your to–do list posthaste: It’s Saturday, and besides a few best-of screenings and Thursday’s LunaFest (more on both later), this is your final chance to see what’s remaining of the event’s 94 selections.

Shows begin at 1 p.m. and run every three hours until 10. You can also take advantage of a 2 o’clock screening at the Canadian Embassy: It showcases filmmakers from the Great White North and — get this — it’s FREE. Those without a festival pass can begin lining up outside the embassy at 1:15.
