Local indie label Carpark Records recently announced it will be releasing the latest electro-pop masterwork from Baltimore auteur Dan Deacon. The album, Spiderman of the Rings, comes out on May 8. But don’t worry—-it’s not the mash-up of Enya and Nickelback that the title suggests. Deacon, judging from his MySpace page, toggles between intricate music-box pieces and spring-is-here-let’s-rejoice thumpers that are in keeping with B-More’s growing indie scene. He should expect a call from Bjork in no time.

Yesterday, Deacon got a major head nod from Brooklyn Vegan, one of the most trusted blogs around, and is set to spend a lot of time on the road and sharing more of his tunes (he’s got another album in the works). We will be following his exploits! You should too.
