Note to Blelvis: You have not left the City Paper Building.

In today’s Washington Post, staff writer Monica Hesse writes a long profile of District legend Blelvis and calls City Paper out for abandoning this street-walking entertainer.

“In the cast of characters that inhabits the streets of Washington,” Hesse writes, “Blelvis has achieved fame. He was the subject of two City Paper features, in 1987 and 1998—the press always comes around near the anniversaries of Presley’s 1977 death.” “Today,” Hesse claims, “The City Paper journalists have moved on.”

Monica Hesse, it seems, has not been reading her Black Plastic Bag.
