In the wee hours of Sunday, Jan. 27, Arlington beer-seller and weird shit repository Dr. Dremo’s Taphouse is set to close its doors for good. Plans to raze the bar (heh) in favor of a residential high-rise have been in the works for a while, but the joint’s owners had kept up hopes that Dremo’s could find a new home elsewhere. Now, it looks like they’ve abandoned the search for a new location yep, still looking. From a press release:

The Stewarts searched for a suitable nearby site to relocateDr. Dremo’s but were unable to find the right fit. “Exorbitant property values and the push for more residential rezoning is making it harder and harder for family run businesses to survive in Arlington County,” said Andrew Stewart, Dr. Dremo’s minister of information.

An auction of all the bar’s weird shit is planned for after the close.
