Things could get messy over at Precinct 25, the Goodwill Baptist Church, in Ward 1. Turnout was a touch higher than expected: According to an elections worker, only 250 ballots out of 800 doled out to the Dems remained by 9:45 a.m. There was a line out the door when I arrived and when I left and the Obamans were out shilling hard for their guy.

My question is: Why only 800 ballots? There are 3,354 registered Democrats in the 25th precinct, according to the Jan. 14 voter registration stats. With the District’s vote almost counting this primary season, wouldn’t you figure turnout would go above 800? And where else are they running short?

I’ve got a call out to elections emcee extraordinaire Bill O’Field.
