Tip from a Trader Joe’s cashier: If you’ve ever been to the Trader Joe’s in Foggy Bottom, you may have bumped into 50 to 100 other people waiting to pay for their soy milk. There’s never a time the place isn’t packed. Last night was a prime example. The checkout line snaked almost all the way to the granola. So we had to ask the cashier—which day and time was Trader Joe’s the least crowded? She said: Wednesday during the day. And if we couldn’t swing that, Wednesday night was a pretty good time to shop without encountering too much cart gridlock.—Jason Cherkis
