Anybody who’s watched the Redskins these last three weeks knows they’ll be hosting nothing besides maybe a viewing party or a fire sale after the regular season.

But, thanks to the people at the city’s Sports and Entertainment Commission, we’ll still have a football game to go to around these parts in the second season. A college bowl game: At a press conference tomorrow, Mayor Adrian M. Fenty will announce the inaugural edition of what will probably be called the “Washington DC Bowl.”

The game has been rumored since last spring, and, based on the guest list at the press conference, as predicted from the start, it will likely feature a military academy (either Navy or Army) facing a bottom-feeding squad from the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Would anybody besides a former Midshipman or Army vet pay to sit in the cold to watch such a game?
