This morning at a D.C. Council press conference (more on that later), Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham announced that a Superior Court judge had struck down the law banning the sales of single beers in Ward 4. The decision, Graham said, was based on the council’s failure to hold a third reading of the bill after major changes on second reading.
What does it all mean? Not much: Ward 4 Councilmember Muriel Bowser told reporters that she would have emergency legislation ready by tomorrow’s council meeting to make sure the law remains in force.
