City Paper is not for tourists
An alternative to this weekend’s theatrical releases is After Dark’s third annual Horrorfest, a pretty self-explanatory film festival with the tagline “8 Films to Die For.”
Showing at D.C.’s beloved Phoenix Union Station from today through Jan. 15, the fest sounds like it could be a bloody (sorry) fun time at the movies, with picks that surely aren’t going to be Oscar contenders but will land somewhere in that sweet spot between self-serious dreck like The Unborn and outright parody such as Don’t.
