The first two sucked even when Kate Beckinsale and her impressive vampire-warrior talents were on prominent display. But Beckinsale’s Selene wasn’t even supposed to be a part of Rise of the Lycans‘ story; now, though she is listed in the credits, her appearance is likely to be a quick cameo for the sake of segue.

Screen Gems is not reviewing the film for critics — shocking, I know — which is not good news considering they offered the other installments up for mauling. So my review will run a week late, but in the meantime, enjoy this peek. Looks like another round of darkness, histrionics, and confusion:
