As if Zack Snyder‘s adaptation of the allegedly unfilmable graphic novel Watchmen needs crazy publicity stunts to get legions of fans into theaters on March 6:

Now that the lawsuit between Fox and Warner Bros. over distribution rights has been settled, a meta-marketing site TheNewFrontiersman.net that’s dedicated to, well, watching the Watchmen was launched this week, offering daily fake-news tidbits to increase fanboy drool.

Today’s update: A copy of “Nixon’s executive order authorizing Dr. Manhattan to intervene in the Vietnam War.” And yesterday, a flickering, scratched-up 1970 news segment recalling the creation of this particular “superman.”

The reporter mentions Dr. Manhattan’s “astonishing intellect”; I’m equally impressed by the astonishing package on display at 1:43:
