It’s Feb. 19th. That’s five days removed from Valentine’s Day, two or three political tussles and about 15 degrees removed from Inauguration Day, nearly a month from St. Patrick’s Day, and miles and miles away from all kinds of other special occasions. Today the high temperature is supposed to be 42 degrees—or about 4 degrees lower than the average high temperature for February around here.
The point being, that Feb. 19th is your average day. It’s not a day for the famous or glamorous. It’s a day for the masters of routine and daily protocol, people who go to work and come back, people who don’t necessarily have a Wikipedia page.
We’re out there today, covering this average day and its overcast regularness. We’re at the courthouse, at the restaurants, at the STD clinics, at the government offices, at the universities, at the retirement homes and at the dog parks.
Throughout the day, we’ll be updating you on what’s going on out there, even if it isn’t much. Please check in from time to time. After all, it’s Feb. 19th—what else do you have to do?
This isn't a paywall.
We don't have one. Readers like you keep our work free for everyone to read. If you think that it's important to have high quality local reporting we hope you'll support our work with a monthly contribution.
