So no one can find a job. Well there’s one government entity that has announced it’s hiring: Advisory Neighborhood Commission 4B. It posted an ad on the Shepherd Park listserv:

“Advisory Neighborhood Commission 4B is looking for a part-time office assistant to work at our 6856 Eastern Avenue, NW office, about two blocks from the Takoma Metro Station. The job pays $15/hr for up to 25 hours per week, with some evenings required.
The minimum requirement is a high school diploma (or its equivalent), plus two years of experience in a similar position. The ability to use basic computer software, good writing skills, an interest in our community and in the D.C. government, along with the ability to work independently, are key.
Ward 4 and D.C. residents are preferred. The deadline for applications is Friday, March 27, 2009.”
