“Social visits with inmates at the Central Detention Facility (CDF) will not be permitted from April 8, 2009 to April 19, 2009. However, legal visits are not affected and may be conducted as usual.

Social visits will resume on April 20, 2009. The Department of Corrections regrets any inconvenience in regards to the temporary suspension of social visits.”

The rumors—yes just rumors—are there was either a riot or the doors have stopped working. DOC isn’t answering their phones. Mendo’s office wasn’t sure what was going on. One D.C. lawyer who works with inmates got a letter from one explaining both issues—riot and busted doors. We will be staying on this story!
