Former Ward 7 Councilmember Kevin Chavous was back in the news yesterday, leading a civil disobedience effort aimed at restoring D.C.’s federally funded voucher program. As WJLA-TV reported, Chavous showed up at Department of Education headquarters with a retinue that included council candidate Anthony Motley and kids holding colorful signs bearing such slogans as “We want a chance to succeed!”
That’s cool, but “KEVIN CHAVOUS…A leader for D.C.’s kids”? Laid out to look like a campaign sign? Someone must miss public office…
