The D.C. Police Department is reporting that last night’s Metrobus victim has died from her injuries. Stephanie Richardson, 61, was hit by a Metrobus in Trinidad yesterday at about 6:30 p.m. She was pronounced dead this afternoon.

The D.C. Police Department writes:

“Members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding an accident involving a pedestrian and a Metrobus, which occurred last night on Mount Olivet Road, NE.Today, the victim, identified as 61-year-old Stephanie Richardson of the 1600 block of 11th Place, NE, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:30 pm on Monday, October 5, 2009, in the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road, NE. At that time, Ms. Richardson reportedly was struck by a Metrobus after exiting from another Metrobus. Consequently, she was transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department personnel to the Washington Hospital Center where she was admitted in critical condition. On Tuesday, October 6, 2009, she was pronounced dead at 4:10 pm.

No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is ongoing.”
