In the spirit of giving thanks I suppose I owe Abe Pollin some. I had a darkroom on 9th Street NW in the late 80s to mid-90s at the princely sum of $231 a month, a location I was quickly priced out of with the success of all the redevelopment. But the Gallery Place/Chinatown area has become our mini-Times Square, a good place to practice the craft of street photography. A vibrant urban space with enough people per square yard that some are bound to be interesting.
