Ward 8 Councilmember Marion Barry is currently on the dais interrogating a panel of city officials, including Deputy Mayor Valerie Santos.
Barry kept trying to get Santos to admit it was a mistake not to send parks contracts totaling in the tens of millions to the council for review. She offered dodgy answers, and after one of them, Barry let his frustration get the best of him:
“Oh, that’s bullshi…,” he said, catching himself on the heels of the last possible phoneme.
He immediately turned to Harry Thomas Jr., chairing the hearing: “Oh, sorry, Mr. Chairman!”
