A domestic dispute at the Columbia Heights Village apartments last night ended in homicide.
D.C. Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived at 2806 14th St. NW at 7:37 p.m. Wednesday to find a man holding Todd Angelo Jackson, 28, in a headlock, according to the police report. After the officers ordered the man to release Jackson, they discovered that he was unconscious.
An ambulance took Jackson, a resident of Congress Heights, to Washington Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:18 p.m. The cause of death has not been released and the suspect has not been named by police.
Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham alerted constituents to the killing in an email this morning, saying no shots apparently were fired:
Dear Friends, Last night a domestic confrontation tragically led to a death within an apartment at Columbia Heights Village on the 2800 block of 14th St. It was a fight between two adult males reportedly within the apt. No gunshots were fired, and I am told no firearms were involved. MPD is not prepared at this moment to release the cause of death. The incident is now under active investigation.
In a June 2009 blog post, Graham blasted Clark Realty, Columbia Heights Village’s managing company, for failing to prevent drug dealing and violence on its property.
