Hurrah! With the Redskins trading two draft picks for Donovan McNabb Sunday, everyone has an opportunity to talk about Dan Snyder‘s penchant for old players. And you thought the off-season meant a break from fans’ moaning.
At least the diehards at Extreme Skins are happy about it. Over there, the McNabb trade has a 61 percent approval rating. Less thrilled, probably, is quarterback Jason Campbell, the guy McNabb’s replacing. According to WaPo’s Jason Reid, he didn’t even get a heads-up about the trade:
As of late Sunday evening/early Monday morning, the Redskins had not officially informed Campbell, their starter the past three-plus seasons, that McNabb is now their franchise quarterback, a person with knowledge of the situation said.
In fact, Campbell only learned of the move from friends, who had heard about the trade while watching television and listening to radio, the person said. Of course, Coach Mike Shanahan and General Manager Bruce Allen are not obligated to tell Campbell anything.
If you’re looking to welcome our new Eagle overlord, there’s no better way to prepare than listening to an MP3 of DiskothiQ‘s “Eagles“. These guys sound tough:
They piss in the stands, they wipe with their hands
They get into fights, and then they lock ’em up tight
Watch out, Washington region.
