Caron Butler, one of the few, the happy few, members of the Washington Wizards these last few seasons before the team got blown up, returns to town this morning to, according to organizers, promote “a more bicycle-friendly America.”

Butler’s partner on this patriotic ride will be…Frederick Andre Henrik. He’s billed as the Crown Prince of Denmark.

I don’t know from this Henrik.

But a few centuries ago a previous Crown Prince of Denmark did spew some wise words. Sure, there was that “To be or not to be…” line.

But, most pertinent to the 2009-2010 Wizards season, a truly Shakespearean affair: “Madness in great ones must not unwatch’d go.”

I hate plays. But I think that means if only somebody had kept a better eye on Gilbert Arenas, Caron wouldn’t have to fly back from Dallas to ride his bike here.

The ride starts at 9:30 a.m. at Garfield Circle at Maryland Ave.& First Street SW on Capitol Hill.
