Plans are underway for a new music venue in Silver Spring, and 9:30 Club owner Seth Hurwitz isn’t happy about it. Hurwitz is suing to prevent the state of Maryland from giving Montgomery County $4 million to build the venue that would be rented out by Live Nation, the largest producer of live concerts in the world.

The results of WTOP’s best local burger contest are in, and the winner is Cheeburger Cheeburger, with 44 percent of the 4,200 votes. The ’50s-style national chain, with locations in Maryland and Virginia, beat out Washington City Paper Best of D.C. winner Five Guys, who had 22 percent of the  vote.

‘The Real World’ may no longer be in D.C., but that doesn’t mean the Beltway can’t come to ‘The Real World.’ Eric Patrick, a 24-year-old aspiring comedian from Arlington, has been cast on the show, which returns to New Orleans this season and premieres on MTV Wednesday, June 30.

Female runners and bikers in Alexandria, watch out. Police are looking for a Hispanic man in his 20s who has been exposing himself to women along the Holmes Run bike path. The incidents tend to happen later in the day and to women who are alone.
