City Paper is not for tourists
The Redskins’ Brian Orakpo went on a public outreach mission inside the Pentagon.
According to posters on Dan Snyder‘s message board, ExtremeSkins, the young endbacker’s appearance this week was arranged through the Best Buy outlet inside the world’s biggest office building.
Who knew there was a Best Buy inside the Pentagon? Dan Snyder, that’s who!
The Pentagon party comes as Snyder has begun hawking the more-available-than-ever general admission tickets to Skins games to local active military and Department of Defense staffers. The team has been going through DOD outposts to pitch workers about “the first opportunity to purchase Season Tickets without being on a waiting list!”
Folks who had the right security clearance to attend the Orakpo viewing say the studly second-year player looks smaller as a civilian than he does in uniform, but made for a fine ambassador for the football team.
One eyewitness account:
I got one ball signed. He wrote **** Dallas on it for me. I asked him to write **** Dallas/Al-Qaeda as you mentioned. He laughed and asked how to spell Al-Qaeda. I paused and said “never mind….just **** Dallas will do”
No word from attendees whether the Orakpo appearance was used to try to move surplus tickets or those $23.99 Pentagon Flag Hats that Snyder sold for profit to “commemorate Sept. 11.”
