Rock and roll fans in the ’60s had Woodstock. Redskins fans in 2010 have Laughingstock.
The jokiest NFL franchise in the land got jokier today. First Fletcher Smith, Donovan McNabb’s agent went off on Father and Son Shanahan.
A portion of Smith’s statement:
“While Donovan’s feelings about Washington remain the same, the Shanahans — both Mike and more specifically Kyle — have made this an extremely difficult relationship to maintain. Their comments have been beyond disrespectful and unprecedented for a six-time Pro Bowl quarterback such as Donovan.”
Rather than let the agent’s words lie over the none-news-cycle that is the Christmas Holiday, Coach Tanahan kicked the fued into overdrive tonight by responding with a ridiculous statement, highlighted by the Freudian slip of the year.
While trying to say he had wished only good things for McNabb, Coach Tanahan’s statement instead read:
“No one wanted him to be more successful than me.”
And you and your boy made sure he wasn’t more successful than you, Coach T!
