Young & Hungry alerts us to the upcoming meet between the Philly and D.C. chapters of the Thursday Night Throwdown, the latte art competition. The next battle is happening on Thursday Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. at Big Bear Cafe in Bloomingdale. Some of D.C.’s finest hipster latte makers have a few words for Philadelphia…or as one lady put it, “Philasmellphia.”

These baristas may be getting ahead of themselves, but considering the lovely latte—-pictured above—-I was served this morning at Big Bear by Lenora Yerkes, my money’s on D.C.
