First, the good news: High gas prices have led to people driving less, and less quickly! That means there have been fewer car-on-car fatal accidents locally. But Kytja Weir at the Examiner reports that while vehicle fatalities have dropped, pedestrian and bicyclist deaths aren’t dropping proportionally. Last year, nearly one in three people killed in road-related accidents weren’t in cars.
