New York Ave. NoMo’: The New York Ave-Florida Ave-Gallaudet U. Metro station officially becomes NoMa-Gallaudet U. tomorrow. Who’s been pushing the NoMa name? Let’s turn to an unusually frank Wikipedia entry (emphasis added):
NoMa (sometimes stylized NoMA) is an initialism for “North of Massachusetts Avenue” that is being used by real estate developers to brand a large tract of land

Crying Wolf: Washington reporters continue to tweet that charges are being filed against Vincent Gray, the joke being that the Vincent Gray in question isn’t Mayor Vince Gray. Making the Grade: Tomorrow afternoon, Gray is announcing the launch of grade.dc.gov, a service that purports to let people grade city services on their smart phones. This town needed a way to vent on your phone that isn’t Twitter. +3
Preppies Against Kumar: Actor and former Obama staffer Kal Penn returned to the metro area last night to attend Obama campaign events and was protested by demonstrators described by the Examiner as “khaki-clad, boat-shoed.” +8
