The family and friends of a woman who was partially paralyzed in Friday’s storm have set up a donation fund to help with her medical expenses.
Carolina Alcalde was struck by a tree during the storm. The tree severed her spinal cord, broke five of her ribs, fractured her shoulder blade, and caused trauma to her lungs. The injury has paralyzed Alcalde below her midsection.
So far, the fund has collected nearly $7,300.
