Update, 5:01 p.m.: LivingSocial has been announced as the mystery third party who would sponsor late-night service for Nationals fans, according to WTOP’s Adam Tuss.
The impasse over who will pay for late-night Metro services for Nationals fan may finally be resolved. Metro has just announced that it’s going to make an announcement about the service at 5 p.m. today at the Navy Yard, which presumably means the issue has been settled.
Who will end up paying for that service is still a mystery. Will it be the Nationals? The city? Everyone?
One bit of information: The Post‘s Mike DeBonis tweets that sources say the city won’t be on the hook. Check back here after 5 p.m. for more.
Update, 4:05 p.m.: DeBonis reports that the service will be covered by an unnamed third party.
