The strangeness of Dupont Circle’s sprawling Mansion on O Street will soon be accessible to the whole country.
In June, a film crew shot the sometimes-controversial home/concert venue/hotel/restaurant for an episode of Mega Mansions, a new Travel Channel series, according to Tracy Halliday, the mansion’s chief marketing officer. The episode is expected to air next year.
I was at the mansion Monday for a food tasting, and it is something else. With its myriad secret doors, piles and piles of knick-knacks, and constant encouragement that everything there is on sale, the whole place is steeped in a shabby sort of mystery. In other words, perfect for reality TV.
Correction: Due to a reporting error, this post originally incorrectly stated the series would be on TLC.
