Is Anne Arundel County becoming the Florida of the Washington metro area? That’s the obvious question after a Friday raid in the county turned up a couple grand worth of pot…and one three-foot alligator.
Jessup resident Michael Golden, 32, is the alleged culprit behind the gator-and-drug house. Golden, an alleged associate of the “Dead Man Inc.” gang, has been charged with possession and intent to distribute marijuana. Police recovered about 159 grams of “kind bud” marijuana, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
It’s illegal to have an alligator in a private home in the county, so the alligator has been taken to an exotic animal farm. According to the police, the swamp creature is healthy.
