No Brauchli, no peace! So could go the rallying cry at the Washington Post, where recently ousted executive editor Marcus Brauchli is getting support in an unusual way: buttons.

I’ve seen a picture of one of the pro-Brauchli buttons, but I can’t publish it here. (Note to Post staffers: If you’re taking a photo of a potentially controversial button, maybe make sure your ID isn’t in the picture.) Still, I can describe it. The button’s design uses this photo of Brauchli, with “I support Marcus Brauchli!” written at the bottom. What’s next, black armbands?

It’s not clear how jokey this is, given Brauchli’s up-and-down popularity in the newsroom. A source at the Post confirms that multiple buttons have been printed.

There may be a market for more. “Where can I get one?” wrote one Post employee in an email after I asked him if he’d seen them around.
