This morning’s shooting on H Street NE, first reported by DCist, was indeed over a pair of sneakers, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

People were waiting in line outside the DTLR clothing store at 902 H Street NE this morning, anticipating the release of new Air Jordans, when shots were fired.

No one was injured in the shooting, according to MPD spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump. Crump confirmed that the shooting involved sneakers.

No arrests have been made, and police are classifying the incident as an assault with intent to rob. Crump didn’t have a description of the suspects.

According to a first-person account posted at Frozen Tropics, three young men were involved in the robbery.
