Social sharing site Pinterest has long been a good place to find polka dot dresses, cocktail recipes, and flower arrangements. But now, the Metropolitan Police Department is putting something on Pinterest that you wouldn’t want at your dream wedding: possible criminals!
So far, the account just has videos taken from MPD’s Youtube account. MPD has posted videos about cold cases, and people connected to robberies and homicides. No word yet from an MPD spokeswoman on what inspired the account.
MPD is just one of several U.S. police departments seeking the public’s help on Pinterest. They’re also not the first Washingtonians using it to fight crime: The Washington Examiner‘s much-vaunted gangster squad started posting mugshots on the site in June.
