Washington is becoming a city of two Capital Bikeshare hubs. That’s the lesson from the latest edition of Mobility Lab’s map of bikeshare trips, which now shows trips between whole neighborhoods.
Using new data from the fourth quarter of 2012, Mobility Lab mapped the trips by neighborhood. The results reveal that bikeshare trips are heavy in areas from Dupont Circle to Shaw, and around Capitol Hill, but rare between the hubs, presumably because that’s a longer bike trip and Bikeshare bikes feel like they’re made of bricks.
There’s more to dig into in the map, including the first full quarter of data from Alexandria’s bikeshare. Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar on the map to distinguish trips by neighborhood.
