Anouar Habib Trabelsi, the 35-year-old Alexandria sedan driver who contracted with dispatch service Uber, won’t face charges for allegedly raping a passenger after all, the Washington Post reports. He’s expected to be released sometime today.
The Metropolitan Police Department announced this morning that Trabelsi would be charged with first degree sexual abuse for the alleged Dec. 8 rape in Cleveland Park. The U.S. Attorney’s Office told the Post that the investigation into the rape is still ongoing but declined to comment on the circumstances of Trabelsi’s release.
