A Maryland garbage truck driver received mortal injuries in a surprising way Monday afternoon—-by falling out of his truck’s cab. Now the case is under police investigation.
Seventy-one-year-old Oxon Hill resident James Harvey Harris was driving a trash truck north on South Capitol Street SE Monday afternoon, according to D.C. police. Harris’ truck hit a bridge overpass as it attempted to drive under it, sending the back of the truck into the pavement.
Meanwhile, the front of the truck was lifted off the ground. With part of his vehicle suspended in the air, Harris fell from the truck to the pavement, with his injuries leading to his death later at an area hospital. Harris’ death is under police investigation, according to a Metropolitan Police Department press release.
