The District’s inspector general says there’s inconclusive evidence of widespread cheating in D.C. public schools under Michelle Rhee, but a new USA Today report on a 2009 memo about cheating in the schools casts doubt on that claim. The memo, which found an unusual number of erasures on test scores, was handled like the political equivalent of a suitcase nuke—-the memo’s writer advises recipients not to leave hard copies around. For her part, Rhee claims that she doesn’t remember reading the memo.
