Parents trust pediatricians to look after their children. But according to police, one D.C. pediatrician was more interested in looking at children—-so much so that he was allegedly looking at child porn when police raided his business today.

Acting on a tip from Microsoft about an Outlook account being used to post child pornography, D.C. police started investigating Washington pediatrician Robert Dickey in April, according to police documents. Today, they raided his combination residence-pediatrician’s office on the 1600 block of 38th St. SE. They discovered a grim scene:

Within the residence is a pediatrician’s office including two exam rooms. The office appeared dirty, cluttered, and unkempt. The defendant was scheduled to see approximately 20 patients today. When officers arrived the defendant was inside his personal office within the pediatric office. Officers observed that the defendant had been viewing a website with child pornography and child erotica on the desktop computer when they entered the office.

Dickey allegedly confessed to police during the search that he visited child porn sites, according to a Metropolitan Police Department detective’s court statement. Dickey has been charged with possessing child porn.
