D.C. councilmembers, Washington Post columnists, pesky former litigation adversaries, and Native Americans can keep asking, but nothing will convince Pigskins owner Dan Snyder to change his team’s name.

“We’ll never change the name,” Snyder told USA Today Tuesday. “It’s that simple. NEVER — you can use caps.”

But don’t get frustrated with Snyder. After all, almost 80 percent of Americans agree with him. Besides, this guy has principles about his racial slurs:

Later Thursday, USA TODAY Sports will publish a story about Amanda Blackhorse, who is Navajo and the named plaintiff in the trademark suit. She said if she ever had the chance, she’d ask Snyder if he would dare to call her a [pigskin] to her face.

“I think the best way is to just not comment on that type of stuff,” Snyder said. “I don’t know her.”

If he did know her, though…
